the villa

Villa Aprica sits about 300 feet above Coral Bay overlooking Hurricane Hole and the national park to the east. Looking south, Coral Bay is directly in front and 1200-foot Bordeaux Mountain is to the west. The breezes keep it comfortable inside and out, gently rustling the dozen palm trees on the property.

Enjoy easy and comfortable barefoot living with tile and marble floors throughout – including the covered porches and the large deck and pool area. The layout allows for plenty of space to gather poolside or on the well-shaded porches on the upper and lower levels.

The three bedrooms are very private with each having its own air conditioning, ceiling fan, full bath, and ample closet space. Bedrooms 2 and 3 have full baths en suite and are accessed from the lower patio. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, sharp knives, coffee maker, coffee grinder, spices, cooking oil, and all the cooking basics. The Weber grill on the deck will be ready for you if you choose to grill poolside.

the location

The Villa is up the hill above the famous Skinny Legs restaurant. Other local restaurants nearby include Rhumb Lines and Salty Mongoose Pizza. Plus, you’ll find several small grocery stores offering everything from meat and produce to beer, wine, and rum. The local USVI Fire and Rescue squad station is at the bottom of the hill. We are grateful for their service in our community.

For active vacationers, the Johnny Horn Trail is a short ten-minute walk from the house to the trail entry. This steep trail brings you high above Coral Bay and the North shore with inspiring views. Its access to an extensive network of trails allows you to explore the Brown Bay Trail, the ruins above Waterlemon Caye/Leinster Bay and more. The hiking can be steep on island, but it is a great way to explore off the beaten path places and discover wildlife and unexpected ruins. If you’re up for a challenge, you can hike up Bordeaux Mountain on the road and descend to the south shore via the Bordeaux Mountain Trail. It’s a heck of a challenge but the views of the USVI, BVI and south shore of the island are spectacular. We love to hike, so we have lots of tips to share on hikes and places to explore. For lazy beach days, you’ll love Maho, Salt Pond, Hanssen, Haulover (south), Cinnamon Bay, and Trunk Bay to name a few, all just a short drive away.
